Sanders, Emilia Elizabeth 

90 12/13/1919 02/27/2010 Emilia E. Sanders passed away Feb. 
27, 2010, at the age of 90. A recitation of the rosary will be at 
10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 
19, 2010, in St. Francis Catholic Church, Sherwood. Emilia E. 
(Putt) Podbielan was born Dec. 13, 1919, in Curlew, Wash., and 
moved to Sherwood in 1927 where she lived until her final 
two years when she moved to Sheridan to live with her son 
and daughter-in-law. Emilia was a member of St. Francis 
Catholic Church and was a member of the first graduation class 
of Sherwood High School. On Jan. 14, 1942, she married Clyde 
H. Sanders, Jr. He pre-ceded her in death in 1999. Emilia is 
survived by her son, Sandy and his wife, Georgene; her much-
loved sister, Ethel Hays; three grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; nephews; nieces; and her very close friend, 
Virginia Hite. Arrangements are in the care of Attrell's Newberg 
Funeral Chapel.
