PICHT, Don Don Picht passed away Monday, December 1st, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 7, 1948 in Tampa, Florida, and was the oldest child of Dan and Cleo Picht (both deceased). Don lived most of his life in Washington State, was a graduate of North Central High School and is a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Don spent several years in the Spokane broadcast industry, then worked for over 20 years in communications for both the Washington State Patrol and the Spokane International Airport. Of his numerous connections to his community, Don truly treasured his softball associations, jamming with the guys and an occasional Friday night card game. Don is survived by the love of his Life, Melody Stubbs, of Spokane; his daughter Christina Morrison (Craig) of Bremerton; as well as close friends, whose lives touched Donny in so many ways. Don also had a soft spot for animals, especially his cocker Bob. A celebration of Don's life will be held Sunday afternoon, December 7th, 4pm at the Old European Restaurant on Spokane's north side, 7640 N. Division (the old Tony Roma Building). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spokane Veteran's Association. COMMUNITY CREMATION SERVICES, 4407 N. DIVISION # 103, SPOKANE, WA 99207 Published on 12/5/2008 Spokesman-Review
