Puckett, Dorothy I. Dorothy I. Puckett 97, of Tucson, AZ was welcomed home on April 8, 2010. She was surrounded by family. Dorothy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 10, 1912 to the late Joseph Balon and Elizabeth Kettler. She lived for many years in Beavercreek, Ohio. Her parents, sisters, brothers and her loving husband of 65 years, Harley Sr. preceded her in death. Dorothy's legacy lives on in the lives of her loving family members: her children, Harley Jr. (Nancy), of Tucson, Arizona, Milton (Michel) of Columbus, Ohio, Sandra Scott (Larry) of Loveland, Colorado. Dorothy was known as Grandma Dorothy and Great-Grandma to her seven Grandchildren and 11 Great- Grandchildren. While living in Beavercreek, she was active in Eastern Star and an adviser for Rainbow Girls. She was a Den Mother for the local Cub Scout Pack, a long time member of Hawker United Church of Christ in Beavercreek and the local Grange. She had been employed at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center and Beavercreek High School. Dorothy and her husband, Harley were very active in the local Beavercreek square dance community. She was famous for her baking skills such as lemon pie and date and nut loafs which she produced in large quantities during the holidays. She made Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls for her Grandchildren and Great- Grandchildren. In 1994 Dorothy and Harley moved to Tucson, where they attended Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Since living in Tucson, Dorothy made and donated Teddy Bears to 'Toys for Tots' program at Christmas time. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 26, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 9252 E. 22nd St., Tucson, AZ, 85710.
