Ruth E. Beach 

Age 84, of Tucson passed away on June 28, 2009. Preceded in death by her 
husband, J. Darrell Beach. Survived by her children, Kathy (John) Jokerst, Bruce (Julie) 
Beach, and Donna Riesgo. She is also survived by five grandchildren, nine 
great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was a teacher in TUSD for 
20 years and retired in 1992 from Blenman Elementary School. She was an active 
member of The Society of Southwest Authors. Her passion was reading and she 
volunteered for many years teaching adults and children to read through OASIS and 
other literacy organizations. She truly believed that reading was the key to success for 
her students. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 at St. 
Cyril's Catholic Church, 4725 E. Pima St. The family requests donations be made to 
Reading Seed, 1920 E. Silverlake, Suite 207, Tucson, AZ 85713. Arrangements
