BIALKOWSKY, Vera M.(Age 95) Passed away peacefully on Friday July 3rd, 2009 at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Olympia, Washington. Known affectionately as Grammy B by her family, she was born on Valentine's day 1914 in Portland, Oregon to Bertha and George Willey. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to the small town of White Salmon, WA where she was raised. She married the love of her life, Roy, while working in the theaters in Seattle. They were married on October 8th, 1938 and were together for 58 years. In 1947 they, along with a son Bill and a daughter JoAnn, moved to Spokane. A third daugher, Carol, arrived two years later. Vera and Roy lived in Spokane for the next 15 years. Roy worked in the steel industry and was very active in the Shrine and Shriners' Hospital. Vera was a member of the Christian Science Church, PEO, and Daughters of the Nile. A consummate homemaker all her married life, she most enjoyed entertaining her family and many good friends. After several more moves, they retired to the Pacific Beach area on the Washington Cost. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy, and brothers George and Dean Willey. She is survived by a son, Bill Bialkowky of Spokane, daughters JoAnn Pittmon of Olympia, WA and Carol Ross of Pacific Beach, WA, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial for immediate family will be at 11;00AM on Friday July 24th, 2009. Grammy was the best of the best. We will all miss her terribly. Published on 7/12/2009 Spokesman-Review
