Acuna, Jesus S. 77, born February 24, 1932 in Phoenix, AZ, passed away on December 3, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita Sanchez and Jesus V. Acuna and sister Katie Trevino. He passed away surrounded by his wife, Ida Acuna; children, Raymond Acuna, Dolores Acuna (daughter in law), Theresa Ochoa, Gilbert A. Ochoa Jr. (son-in-law); grandchildren, Stephani M. Acuna, Kristine J. Acuna, Diane A. Ochoa and Steven A. Ochoa; brothers and sisters, Jimmy and Sally Acuna, Vera Sallas, Amelia Cordova, Sally Fieros and Peter Acuna; along with nieces, nephews, compadres, friends and neighbors at his home. Jesus rarely spoke of his military service but records show that he volunteered for the Korean War and fought in three major campaigns with the 25th Infantry Division from May 1952 to February 1953. He was a City of Phoenix employee with the Streets Department and retired after 34 years of service. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 5-8pm with a rosary at 7pm at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale.
