Weber, Margie C. 82 12/24/1926 12/14/2009 Margie was born in Indianola, Iowa, to Orie and Cora Puderbaugh. The family migrated to Gladstone in 1936 so her father could work in the paper mill. She graduated from Oregon City High School in 1944. As a child, she lived across the street from Ben F. Weber (Oregon State Police). Their romance began via mail while Ben was in the U.S. Navy (1944) in the South Pacific and culminated upon her graduation from the United States Cadet Nurse Corps at Providence Medical School in May 1948. They married June 18, 1948, and were married for 60 years. She worked in almost every hospital in Portland and did a variety of jobs from complex heart surgery to experimenting with the transplanting of kidneys. She had three children, Randy, Cindy and Danny. Margie and Ben both retired in 1981 and started traveling the state of Oregon, Europe and cruised the South Seas. In 2004, she became very ill and Ben and her son, Randy, took care of her. Upon the death of her husband in June 2008, her condition worsened and required full-time care from Randy. Randy promised his parents that he would not put her in a nursing home. She left us Monday morning. We are glad that she is with her husband and the Lord in Heaven. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, in Gladstone First Baptist Church on Caldwell Road, followed by fellowship and then burial in Willamette National Cemetery.
