Podolsky, Audrey L. Audrey "Trixie" L. Podolsky, 97, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at La Mesa Care Center of complications due to Alzheimer's disease. Audrey was born on January 30, 1913 in Harper, Texas the youngest of seven children. She moved with her family to the Yuma Valley in 1917, where her father built the first cotton gins in the area. She grew up in Gadsden and attended local schools. In 1938 she married Dr. A. I. Podolsky who had come from Cook County Hospital in Chicago to practice medicine in Somerton. They moved to Yuma 2 years later where Audrey raised her family. She was active in Campfire Girls of America and was a devoted member of St. Paul 's Episcopal Church where she spent much of her time with the church Altar Guild. Audrey is survived by her daughter, Kitty, of Sherman Oaks, CA; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Lorri, of Yuma; and grandchildren, Alex Podolsky, Taylor Podolsky, and Ashley Mikyska. She is preceded in death by her husband, A.I., her son, John, and her brothers and sisters. Memorial service is Saturday, June 5th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Yuma.
