Archibeque, Lionel Lionel "Archie" Archi-beque, 72, of Rancho Bernardo, passed away suddenly on January 25, 2010. Archie was born to Alcario and Ramona Archibeque in Phoenix, AZ on December 9, 1937. After high school, Archie immediately enlisted the U.S. Navy. He proudly served his country for 30 years and retired as a Command Master Chief. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Leah Archibeque. Archie is also survived by his sister, Betty Patton; son, Michael Archibeque; daughters, Corvie Ross and Marcia Blain and his stepchildren, Michael Nanz, Margie Smilowitz and Marilyn Rieken; eight grandchildren and three great-grand-children. Archie enjoyed his retirement playing golf, cooking for his family and friends and serving as the President of his Homeowners Association with a very vibrant personality. He will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate to have known him. Services will be held at MCAS Miramar Chapel on Saturday, February 6th, at 11:30 a.m. A celebration of Archie's life will follow on Base at The Palms Restaurant/NCO Club.
