Avila, David S.

of Phoenix, Arizona, peacefully passed away February 6, 2010 
at the age of 90. He was born March 31, 1919 in Rey, Arizona. 
Beloved husband to the late Josephine Avila, dearest brother 
of Ruben Avila, Sara Terrill and the late Mary Aguilar, Victor 
Ortega, John Ortega, Sam Avila, Alice Mabante and Alex Avila. 
Loving father of Mary Lou Johnston, Richard Avila, Barbara 
Atencio, Stella Redus, Larry Avila, Patricia A. Montez, David 
Phasely and the late David Lee Avila. Also, a devoted 
grandfather of 18, great grandfather of 30 and great great 
grandfather of 3. He served his country in the Army Air Corp 
during WWII. Years later he and his late wife moved to 
California where they opened four Dry Cleaning businesses. 
He will be missed by all those who love him. Visitation will 
be 4-7, Rosary 6 pm, Sunday, Feb. 14th at Hansen Mortuary 
8314 N. 7th St., Phoenix. Mass will be on Monday, Feb. 15th at 
10am at Hansen Mortuary and burial will follow at Greenwood 
Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren Ave, Phx.
