Puget, Jeanne Marie Ansolabehere Jeanne Marie (Ansolabehere) Puget March 16, 1917 - June 19, 2010 Rosary and requiem Mass will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 900 H St. in Bakersfield. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Our mother, the matriarch of our family, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Born to Basque immigrant pioneers Jean and Marie (Eyherabide) Ansolabehere, she was the last of their nine children to decease. Raised on a ranch in northwest Bakersfield, she attended Beardsley Elementary School, and graduated from Kern Union High School in 1935. She married the love of her life, August Puget, May 16, 1937 and had four children, Jeanne Marie, Bernard, Anita and Vincent. As a devoted mother and loving wife, she was a homemaker and assisted Dad in the family sheep business. She made time to care for extended family members and friends. Mom was an active member of the Kern County Wool Growers Association, Wool Growers (Bo Peeps) Auxiliary and the Kern County Basque Club. Her extensive participation in the Basque Community will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Michael, Martin, John, Pascal, Bernard, Gracian, Martin II and sister Rosalie Etcheverry. She is survived by daughter, Jeanne Marie Curran and her children Richard and Nancy, Michael and Alice Curran and Denise McCombs; son, Bernard and daughter-in-law Lynne Puget and their children Bernard and Ramona Puget, and Rachelle and Mike Towery; daughter, Anita Bayne and her children Curtis and Leann, David, Matthew and Paige Bayne, Renee and Mike Kemp; and son, Vincent and special friend Carol and his children Lisa and Justin Schimnowski, Kristin and Caleb Moore, Andy and Erica Puget and adopted daughter, Marguerite Ferdinand and 29 great- grandchildren who will miss the Amatxi. Along with sister-in- law, Jo Francis Ansolabehere and many nieces, nephews and cousins of the Basque Community. Visitation will be held at Greenlawn Mortuary, Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any remembrance be made to Garces Memorial High School, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , or charity of your choice.
