Aranda, Ernie G. Ernie G. Aranda age 63 was born July 12th 1946 in Phoenix, AZ to Marcelino and Lupe Aranda. He went to heaven on July 11th 2010. He was a devoted and loving Husband, Daddy and a wonderful Tata. He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret Cordova Aranda, four children, daughters Yolanda Aranda Quihuis (Mike), Priscilla Aranda, Yvonne Aranda; and his son Ernie Aranda Jr. (Virginia) five grandchildren Michael Quihuis Jr., Ilena Aranda, Marcus Quihuis, Adalena Aranda, and Ernesto Aranda III, two brothers Tony and Manuel Aranda, two sisters Rachel A. Mata and Alice Aranda, and countless extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Marcelino and Lupe Aranda, three brothers Ramon, Peter and Rudy Aranda. Ernie attended Carl Hayden High School where he played on the basketball team and was considered an outstanding player. After serving in active duty in the Vietnam War for the U.S. Army, Ernie became a member of the Operating Engineers 428 and worked for Chromalloy Arizona, he retired in 2008. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 41. Ernie provided his wife and children with the best life that anyone could hope for with a loving and stable home with strong values, this is the reason why his children are who they are today. He took his family on numerous vacations giving them the opportunity to experience and learn new things. He loved watching sports and was an Arizona Cardinals and Phoenix Suns fan and liked to keep up with the political world. Ernie knew how to fix just about anything and came up with great inventions. His greatest joy in life was being with his Grandchildren. He was a wonderful father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He made people laugh with his jokes, liked to give people nicknames, always had an open door to his home and was always willing to help others. This is why so many people loved him. We love you always and we will miss you. You will be in our hearts forever. Thank you for Everything! Viewing with a rosary will be held on Monday July 19th 2010 from 10:00am to 11:00am and a Funeral Mass from 11:00am to 12:00pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6180 W. Utopia Road, Glendale, AZ 85308. Burial to follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024. Arrangements entrusted to Harper Funeral Home.
