Curtis A. BAARLEY 59, passed away Monday, October 2, 2000 at his home in Bellevue, WA. He is survived by Joelle, his wife of 16 years; his 9 year-old daughter Jennifer; and one brother, Doug of Antioch, CA. He was preceded in death by his father Archie and his mother Betty. Curt was born in Renton, WA. December 3, 1940. He lived there with his parents until the family moved to Des Moines, WA. in 1943 where he spent the rest of his school years. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1963 with an electrical engineering degree. Curt worked at Boeing for 15 years, ATL Ultrasound for 8 years and Interpoint Corp. for 12 years. He married Joelle in 1984 and his one and only child, Jennifer was born in 1991. He retired in June 1998 and in October 1999 he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. He used alternative therapies to combat the cancer; however, kidney failure became too much to handle along with the cancer. Curt was respected for his vast knowledge of many subjects and his great talent as a piano player. He will surely be missed by all. A Memorial Service is being held Friday, October 20 at 2 p.m. at Highline Christian Church, 14859 - 1st Ave. S. in Burien, WA. Donations may be directed to the Northwest Kidney Foundation.
