BICHLER, Mary (Age 100) Mary was born June 21, 1906 in Strasburg, North Dakota. She lived there with her parents, Peter and Magdalena Zacher until her marriage to Romanus Bichler in 1927. They moved to Spokane in 1946 with their five children, where she dedicated the rest of her life to being a wonderful wife, homemaker, and mother. She was a member of St. Aloysius Parish, until her health deteriorated in January of 2003, when she went to live with her daughter, Venita, and her husband, Dennis. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Alter Society, the Ladies Sodality, an Auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary, and a former member of the St. Anthony Guild. Her daily attendance at mass was an inspiration to those who witnessed her faith. She loved crocheting, sewing, and working with her hands. She, along with her husband, spent a lifetime working together in their rose garden. The beauty of their garden was a reflection of their life together. Her greatest joy was in feeding those who stopped by to visit. She never tired of playing cards, and for many years, bingo and lunch with friends at O'Malley Hall was one of her favorite pastimes. Her greatest possessions were her family and her friends. Her loving husband, Romanus, son Herman, and grandson Michael Davis preceded Mary in death. She leaves behind her remaining four children, Annabelle Davis and her husband Mike, Sister Tharsilla Bichler, FSE, Jerry Bichler and his wife Jeanne, and Venita Fischer and her husband Dennis. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. There will be a visitation for Mary on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 from noon to 5PM at the funeral home. Vigil Services will be Wednesday, March 14, also at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 330 W. Boone Ave., Thursday, March 15, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Robert Fitts, SJ presiding. A graveside committal will follow Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N. Wall, Spokane, WA. Memorials are suggested to the Immaculate Heart Retreat House, 6910 S. Ben Burr Rd., Spokane, WA 99223 or to the O'Malley Senior Center at St. Aloysius Church, 330 E. Boone Ave., Spokane, WA 99202-1778. Arrangements entrusted to Mar 13, 2007 Spokesman-Review
