BABBITT, Dorothy Dowell Holm 1913-2007 Dorothy Dowell Holm Babbitt, 93, passed away on March 10. She's now in Heaven, drinking extra-strong coffee with the friends who have gone before and reminding God to watch over her loved ones, as she asked him daily to do. Born on December 13, 1913 in Hoquiam, Wash., Dorothy was raised in Minnesota with her brother and three sisters and married Hjalmer Holm, who preceded her in death. She made her home in Portland and later married Kenneth Babbitt, who passed away several years ago. Known for her warmth, compassion, sense of humor and faith in the Lord, Dorothy worked for many years at Holladay Park Hospital. She also devoted untold hours to her church, teaching Sunday School and helping Mien people learn English and acclimate to America. Everyone who knew her found a friend and champion in "Grandma Dorothy". She is survived by her daughter, Doris; son-in-law Ed Mattingly; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She loved well and was well loved, forever leaving her gentle imprint on our hearts. Service will be at Rose City Nazarene Church 7016 N.E. Sandy Blvd., Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 1 PM.
