BAKER, Dorothy Nell Oct. 31, 1929-Nov. 3, 2008 The celebration of a beautiful life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Clackamas Christian Center in Milwaukie for Dorothy Baker, who went to be with the Lord on Nov. 3. Dorothy was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Dallas, Texas, and moved with her family to Oregon in 1949. She was the eldest of two children born to James and Minnie Pace. Dorothy's brother, Gerald, passed away in 1998. In 1953 Dorothy married Darrell Baker, and they recently celebrated 55 wonderful years together! Their abiding love and deep devotion to each other are a testament and great inspiration to all who know them. Dorothy dearly loved the Lord with all her heart, and treasured every day spent with her loving husband, daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. Dorothy lived her life unselfishly, constantly giving of herself, and always putting others first. She was truly God's beautiful treasure, a priceless gift and blessing to her family, and will be missed more than words can say. Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband, Darrell; three daughters, Sheryl Thompson, Brenda Lucia of Clackamas and Karen Ellis of Gladstone; nine grandchildren, Jared, Nathan, Rachael, Melinda, Ryan, Stefanie, Gregory, Bradley and Jonathan; great-grandson, Ethan Ray; and many nieces and nephews. Remembrances to Clackamas Christian Center. Published in The Oregonian on 11/16/2008
