BICHLER, Melba L. Born January 25, 1919 to Solomon and Amelia Stokes in Cathay, ND. She lived there on the family farm until she lost her parents at the age of nine. She then moved to Aberdeen, WA with her Aunt Martha until returning to help on the farm at 13. She fell in love with and married her husband Nick in 1939. They went on to have daughter Cheryl Kay, son Danny Rae, and daughter Dee Ann Sue. They were married for fifty wonderful years. Melba loved and was loved by ten grandchildren, 20 great-grand-children, seven brothers and sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. And of course, was loved dearly by her best friend Pat Martinson.Melba loved spending time outdoors camping, fishing, golfing and gardening. She had many hobbies including painting, sewing, and cooking. She was a member of the Elks and Eagles and loved camping with the Elks RV club. Melba spent her last four years in Olney, MT living with her daughter Dee Ann and son-in-law Jeff who gave her the best care anyone could ask for. Melba was a kind and gentle soul that touched everyone. She will be missed by all and forever in our hearts. Services will be held Wednesday, December 3rd at 1:00p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 810 S. Sullivan. Published on 11/26/2008 Spokesman-Review
