James T. (Jimmy) Babb James T. Babb, long time resident of Tacoma, died March 1, 1999 in Pickens, SC. He was born in Pickens on March 7, 1911, and spent the last 10 years living there. Jim retired from the US Army after 20 years, and then worked for Civil Service at Ft. Lewis, WA, until retirement. While in Tacoma, he was a member of Horace Tyler Masonic Lodge and the Tacoma Elks. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Alma Nasser Babb, and his son, Thomas James Babb. He is survived by wife Frances Parker Babb of Pickens, and daughter Connie Kinyon of Enumclaw, WA; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Besides his love of fishing and playing a great game of cribbage, Jimmy will be remembered for his love of being with people, telling his stories, and always a "twinkle in his eye."
