Magdelon Marie Baarstad 

Mrs. Magdelon Marie Baarstad, Panache Manor, University Place, 
Washington, passed away peacefully, with family at her side, on June 5, 
2000 at 3:17 PM. She was born in Bismarck, N. Dakota, the third of 
five children, on her parents homestead on July 9, 1913. In 1940 she 
moved to Olympia, Washington, where she met Henry Baarstad, 
another North Dakota resident. They married on April 1, 1941. From 
1942 through 1975, she resided in Vancouver, Washington. After 
retirement she returned to Olympia, Washington, where she lived until 
failing health obliged her relocation to Tacoma, where she lived the last 
five years. Survivors include sisters Evelyn Sinkula and Florence 
Baarstad; son Roger Baarstad, all of Tacoma; two grandchildren and 
nine great grandchildren. Viewing will be at Mt. View Funeral Home 
from Noon until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, June 7th. A Rosary is to be 
said at 9:30 AM, prior to a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Ann's Catholic 
Church on Thursday, June 8th, followed by a reception in the Church 
Hall. Magdelon will be interred beside her husband at Noon on 
Monday, June 12 at St. James Cemetery, Vancouver, Washington.
