James H. Beach Jr. On December 27, 1925, James Harvey Beach, Jr. was born to Anna Falgein and James Harvey Beach, Sr. in the town of Florence, Colorado, a small, close-knit community south of Colorado Springs. James grew up in a loving family of two brothers and three sisters, being the third child of six. In 1942 he graduated from high school having two things, his diploma and love for a young lady he knew in school. His life took a turn as he entered the Army during World War II, serving in Hawaii. He served his country as a sergeant in the military police, receiving several medals. Upon coming home he started to work for Mountain Bell, and af- ter a short time he once again was united with his high school sweetheart. James and Helen Colleen Powers were united in marriage on December 7, 1952 in Canon City, Colorado. Two children, Larry Leon and Linda Leann, blessed the union. They shared a small house west of Canon City in the shadow of Twin Mountains. Although their life may have been difficult by current standard, having no running water and needing to hand pump water from the well, these years are remembered to be some of the sweetest as Helen and #J.R.# grew in their love. The highlight of James# life, above his marriage and his children, occurred on Mother#s Day, 1954 when he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He continued to be faithful, serving in Landmark Missionary Baptist Churches in Colorado and Washington as teacher, song lead- er and an ordained deacon. The Lord called him Home on Wednesday, November 7, 2000. He served his God, country and family, and is now rejoicing with Victory in Heaven. Survivors include his loving wife Helen, of Bonney Lake, WA; son Larry L. Beach, O.D. and wife Laurie of Auburn, WA; daughter Linda L. and husband Pastor Gary McFarlin of Bonney Lake, WA. Grandchildren include Shawn D. Beach and wife Aimee of Lynn- wood, WA; Alisa L. and husband Jacoby Allen of Bend, OR; James M. Beach of Salida, CO; Corinne Keeling of Las Vegas, NV; Bernadine Beauchene of South Dakota; Joy Lou Blatnick of Florence, CO.
