Virginia DAVIS Died peacefully on April 3, 2006 from natural causes at Sunrise Haven, a Christian Science nursing facility. Virginia was born to Reginald and Ethel Peacey on August 9, 1918 in Long Beach, California. The family lived in California for awhile and then moved to the Lake City area of Seattle. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1937, and briefly attended college before embarking on a business career. Virginia married William Davis on January 1, 1950 and they lived in Alaska for a short time, but later settled in the Edmonds area. She worked full-time while raising a family and took pride in her career, eventually earning her CPA degree. After her husband's death, she lived in downtown Edmonds with a breathtaking view of Puget Sound, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was working for Alaska Northwest Publishing when she retired, after which she traveled a bit and spent several winters in Cathedral City, CA to be near her sisters and savor the warm desert climate. In her later years when she could no longer drive, she stayed at home in Edmonds but was faithfully taken to church twice weekly by friends, and she cherished visits from her grandson, as well as numerous other family members and friends. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and is survived by her son, Sherman and his wife, Sheila, daughter, Sheryl Lotton, and grandson, Jesse Lotton. Virginia was a strong and caring mother and grandmother, as well as active in the church and charitable organizations, and she will be greatly missed. There will be a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 13 at 546 Alder St. Edmonds, in the first floor gathering room of the building where she lived. The family suggests that anyone wishing to make a memorial donation contribute to The Christian Science Church located at 551 Maple Street, Edmonds Washington, 98020. .
