Laura Ellen Gable 

A gathering will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday,
April 8, 2006, in Oregon City Elks Lodge for Laura
Ellen Gable, who died March 12 of lung cancer at age
77. 

Laura Beach was born June 11, 1928, in Corvallis and
moved to Oregon City in 1931. She worked in the
converting department for Publishers Paper. In 1948,
she married Thomas Gable; he died in 1965. 

Survivors include her daughter, Debra Cavitt; sisters,
Susan Miller, Florence Chiodo and Dorothy Blahuta;
brother, Wallace Beach; companion, William Erickson,
and his children that she helped raise, Debbie McVey,
Carmen Meyer, Grant Erickson and Tracy Erickson; nine
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. 

Remembrances to the American Cancer Society in
Oklahoma City for lung cancer research. Arrangements
