Doris May (Babbage) Jackson Doris May Jackson of Mukilteo, WA passed away April 6, 2007. She was born on May 21, 1928, to F. Claude and Elmira Babbage in Hinsdale, IL, then moved to Seattle, WA, in 1932. Doris graduated from West Seattle High School in 1945, and from the University of Washington Art School in 1949. She lived with her parents until marrying fellow UW Art School graduate, George Livingston Jackson, on September 10, 1949. They soon thereafter moved to Mukilteo. Doris was employed in various positions while attending High School, the UW, and as a young mother, including the West Seattle library, AT&T, and the Mukilteo Water District. She then was hired on at the Everett Herald in 1959, remaining there for 26 years until retirement in 1985. Doris was a member of Phrateres. She volunteered with the Mukilteo food bank and voting polls for many years. She knitted and crocheted mittens and hats for the church to provide to children throughout Snohomish county. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, Australia, and Europe. Doris is preceded in death by George L. Jackson, to whom she was married nearly 49 years. She is survived by daughters, Nancy S. Jackson, of Lakewood and Carole (Larry) Mann, of Mukilteo; son, Thomas (Carol) Jackson, of Everett; grandsons, Chris (Christy) Veal, of Vashon Island, Kevin Jackson, of Everett, Daniel Veal, of El Paso, TX, Adam Jackson, of Seattle; and her Aunt Mary Babbage Krause, of West Seattle. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the Mukilteo Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Michael J.
