Frances G. Mellara 

Frances G. Mellara died June 26, 2006, at age 84. 

Frances G. Babb was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Los
Angeles. She graduated from Pomona College. During
World War II, she served in the Navy. After the war,
she lived in New York City and Philadelphia before
moving to Portland in 1961, and to Rome and Florence,
Italy, in 1966. She returned to Portland in 1971 and
was a freelance copy writer, including for Meier &
Frank and Pact Senior Service Center. In 1952, she
married Pier A.; he died in 1981. 

Survivors include her daughter, C. Ann M. Cramer; son
Gian S.F. ; and one grandchild.
