Carlo Pichler Carlo Pichler, age 72, born September 20, 1925 in Sant Leonard, Passiria, Italy, to Richard and Maria Pichler, passed away August 8, 1998 at Providence Hospital, Centralia, as the result of a brief illness. He spent his youth in Italy, and in 1943, was interned in the Dachau concentration camp for 6 months. In 1950 he emigrated to Argentina, where he met and married his wife, Monica C. Bialowons, in 1959. In 1963 he arrived in the United States, settling in Tacoma. From 1969- 1979 he resided in Puyallup, WA. In 1979 he and his family moved to Rochester, WA, where they presently make their home. From 1966- 1979 he had owned German Auto Repair on South Tacoma Way until his retirement in 1979. He enjoyed woodworking and had built his own log house. He had also owned and operated his own sawmill. He was a very active member of the Tenino Assembly of God Church, where he was Deacon. He pioneered the German Assembly of God Church in Tacoma in 1975. Survived by wife Monica C. Pichler, Rochester; 4 sons, Daniel of Rochester, Edward of Tacoma, John of Centralia, and Michael of Rochester; one grandson; one brother and 3 sisters in Italy; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Carlo Pichler will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 1998 at 11:00 AM at the Tenino Assembly of God Church, with Pastors James Escober, Jurgen Ringman and Jack Crume officiating. Interment will follow in Grand Mound Cemetery, Rochester, WA. Pallbearers will be Bernardo Echeverri, Ed Sheppard, Carlos Reising, Richard Swank, Steve Glacken and Jim Dixon.
