Homer Eugene Puariea Nov. 20, 1923 - May 28, 2001 #Homer Dawg# Homer Puariea passed away on Monday, May 28, in Seattle. Born in Reeder, North Dakota to Walter and Hazel Puariea, Homer moved to Puyallup as a youth and attended Puyallup High School. A lifetime member of the VFW, he served with the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bogue. He was owner of Cable Construction Co. and National Barricade of Hawaii. More recently, regulars at the Tacoma and Puyallup Farmers# markets will remember him as the jovial and personable purveyor of #Homer Dawgs#. An avid supporter and booster of the UW Husky football team and lifetime member of the President#s Club, Homer is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marian; daughters Cheri (Steve) Nolen, Patti (Mike) Peluso, Juli (John) Miller, and Tanya Parieaux; son Dick Puariea (Shelley), five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Joyce Brouwer. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 4 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 10510-136th St. East, Puyallup at 10:30 AM.
