Esther Panni Nov. 2, 1931 - Feb. 5, 1999 Esther Panni (Picard), age 67, a long tima resident passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. Born in Chicopee Falls, MA. she was a real estate broker in Tacoma for many years. She owned and operated Cascade West Realty. She later worked for Tacoma-Pierce County Housing Authority. After Esther retired, her greatest joy was knitting baby sweaters for Our Lady of Guadalupe Maternity Center. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Maria Panni, in Sept. 1998. Esther leaves her long time companion, Norman A. Runyan; children, Toni Strehlow and her daughter Nicole, and Zachary Panni, all of Tacoma; also Donna Westmoreland of NE; brothers, Harold Picard and his wife Shirley, Donald Picard, Francis Picard; sisters, Rita Zajchowski and Rachael Hall all of MA; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A special thank you to Fr. Kurt Nagel for his ministry and unconditional support. The family also wishes to thank all of the wonderful caregivers at Tacoma General Hospital, 6J Cancer Wing, and the kindness of Olsten Health Services during our difficult time. Visitation will be Wednesday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home. Followed by the Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. in the Mt. View Valley Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday Feb. 11, 1999, 10:00 a.m. in the Valley Chapel.
