Betty F. PIAZZA 76, passed away on April 8, 2005 after her three-year battle with cancer. Although she was a long time resident of Bellevue, Washington, she remembered fondly her years growing up on a farm in Colby, Wisconsin. As a young woman she went to work in Chicago where she met and married James Piazza in 1956. They started their family in Chicago, Illinois and then moved to Carpentersville, Illinois prior to moving to Bellevue in 1967. Betty had an unending amount of love and patience for all living things, whether a child, the stray neighborhood dogs, or her dozens of in-door and out-door plants. She donated many hours of support to school activities for her children including being an active member of the local PTA. She cared for a number of foster children as a young mother, as well as her own. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years in 2001, and her parents Herbert and Altine Stoltzman of Marshfield, Wisconsin. She is survived by three sons and "three wonderful daughters": Albert and Gai Lynn of Snohomish, WA; Philip and Ginny of Renton, WA; and David and Kim of Dillingham, AK. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren (Chad, Steven, Ashley, Lizbeth, Hannah, Katelynn, and Alisha); her sister Ruth Schmidt of Stratford, WI; sister-in-law Mary Ann Doyle of Santa Clarita, CA; foster sister Evelyn Schroader of Willamette, IL and many other friends and family. Funeral Services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home in Bellevue, WA on Thursday the 14th at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday the 13th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers please direct donations to the Overlake Hospital Foundation or Evergreen Hospice Services.
