John D. Picco A gathering will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2005, in Omega Funeral & Cremation Service for John D. Picco, who died May 15 at age 92. Mr. Picco was born June 10, 1912, Dalzell, Ill. He received bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Illinois and a master of law degree from Harvard University. He served in the U.S. Cavalry for seven years before World War II. During World War II, he served in the Army in Europe. In 1953, he moved to Portland, where he was an attorney for the Internal Revenue Service for 31 years and was later of counsel with Black Helterline. He served on the boards of Mount Hood Community College and Woodland Park Hospital and was an adjunct professor at Lewis & Clark Law School. In 1943, he married Anne F. Higgins. Survivors include his wife; sons, John D. Jr., Thomas J., Anthony M. and Michael D.; daughter, Pauline A.; and five grandchildren. Remembrances to the Alzheimer's Association.
