Concelia "Connie" (Vernarelli) PICINI June 11, 1904 - May 24, 2006 Reaching almost 102 years, she is survived by sons Gino Picini (Ruth), Dan Picini, daughter Flavia Meyer and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Picini, 13 grand children, 27 great grandchildren, and 6 great, great grandchildren. "Her children rise up and call her blessed." (New KJV) Born in Sequndo, CO, the daughter of Italian immigrants, Stefano and Elisabetti (DiDonato) Vernarelli. She came to Black Diamond, WA Christmas Eve 1904. In 1921 she married Tomasso Picini, also an Italian immigrant, in Black Diamond, WA. Living in Tacoma about a year, she lived in Seattle all of her life. She is preceded in death by Thomas (Tomasso) Picini Sr., Tommy Picini Jr. and grand children Nancy Picini, Elaine Picini, Doug Picini and great grand daughter Liz Picini. A gathering of family and friends is planned for Sunday, June 11, 2006 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM (mother would have been 102 yrs old) at Flavia Meyer's home in Federal Way. Published in print on 5/28/2006.
