Carol (Davis) Piburn Carol was born in 1924 in Chicago, IL and died at home on June 25, 2006. She was married to #Bert# Piburn, a career Army officer, for 29 years. They lived in Europe and Asia and retired at Ft. Lewis in 1962. They shared retirement for 15 years until Bert#s death in 1976. Carol married John Davis in 1985 and also shared retirement life together. John died in 1998. Carol is survived by son Michael (Kim) of Seaside, OR, stepdaughter Kathy (Randy) Hartman of Lacey, WA, grandson Ryan of Spokane, and step-grandson Bill (Rhonda) of Seattle. Carol was an accomplished artist in oil, acrylic, and watercolor, winning numerous awards, including first prize at the Puyallup Fair. She was generous in her giving, a friend to her buddies at the Association of Retired Officers# Wives (AROWS), and various artists# groups, and a member of University Place Presbyterian Church (UPPC) for 43 years, being an ordained deacon. Carol bravely fought cancer for 10 years with the professional help of Dr. Lauren Colman and staff. Her last months were under care of MultiCare Hospice, and daughter-in-law Kim Pyburn.
