Barbara Peacock Barbara Peacock, age 72, peacefully died in her home on September 17, 2006, surrounded by her family. She was lovingly cared for in her final weeks by daughters Jan and Julie (Dick), and grandchildren Jeremy, Becca, Kate, Jessica, and MaryBeth. She is also survived by son Dennis, grandchildren Heather, Dennis and Nicholas, and two great-grandchildren. Barbara loved her many cats, her family, friends, wildlife, gardening, and Wednesday bridge games. She bravely fought ovarian cancer for over four years during which time she played tennis with her good friends at the Lakewood Racquet Club. An avid traveler, Barbara left three passports filled with the stamps of countries on six continents. She was determined, strong-willed, and ever compassionate, giving freely of herself and her resources to her family and all animals, domestic and wild. She supported local theaters, attending often, especially musicals. Our family would like to thank Franciscan Hospice, as well as all of the friends who showed their love and support through cards and phone calls. At her request, her ashes will be scattered during a private family memorial service. Please help us celebrate Barbara#s love of animals by donating to the Tahoma Audubon Society (253-565-9278), the Kindred Souls Foundation in Steilacoom (253-226-3135), or the Tacoma/Pierce County Humane Society (253-284-5823).
