Mary Peabody Smith Mary Peabody Smith was born in Waukegan, Illinois, to Leonard Clough Peabody and Aneta Marie Ruby on July 17, 1926. She passed away peacefully with her family at her side on March 6, 2007, in Everett, Washington. Mary was a graduate of Burlingame High School in Burlingame, California, in 1944 and later graduated from Oberlin College in Ohio with a degree in Sociology in 1948. She met and married Robert Lee Smith on May 26, 1951, and together they raised three wonderful sons. Mary worked as a counseling secretary for the Beaverton, Oregon Public Schools for a number of years. She was an active member of Mukilteo Presbyterian Church and enjoyed her church family and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert, in 1991. She is survived by her sons, Mark (Valynn) Smith, of Mukilteo, WA, Clay (Kimberly) Smith of Bend, OR, and Leonard (Terri) Smith of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Stephen, Michael, Jill, Taylor, Madison, Natalie, and Calvin; and sister, Aneta (Joseph) Rowe of Scottsdale, AZ. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2007, at Mukilteo Presbyterian Church, 4514 84th Street S.W., Mukilteo, WA 98275.
